I’m Seth Buchanan, a Brisbane based wedding photographer with over 15 years of experience. I specialise in a calm, observant, documentary style, staying in the background so you can fully enjoy your day. The result? Images that feel genuine because they are genuine.

My Story

I started photographing weddings in 2007 and have captured hundreds of them across New South Wales. After more than a decade, I stepped back from weddings to focus on what mattered most, weekends with my wife and our young children. We followed the Sun and relocated from NSW to Brisbane. Queensland.

That break was exactly what I needed. My kids are now teenagers, my weekends are free(er) and I’ve returned to wedding photography with renewed energy and a deeper appreciation for the work. I’m excited to be back behind the camera, this time calling Brisbane home and capturing moments across Queensland.

My Approach

Photography for me is about preservation. I don’t chase trends or pose people for social media likes. Instead, I focus on the quiet, meaningful moments that would otherwise fade into memory. The gentle glances, the laughter between friends, the way a parent looks at their child on your wedding day.

These are the images that matter most in ten or twenty years time. They become treasured family heirlooms.

At the same time, I still capture all the essential family photos, Bridal Party and important milestone shots. I do this efficiently and respectfully so they don’t dominate your day.

I work unobtrusively and respectfully. No awkward directing. Just quiet observation, genuine connection and a relaxed presence that lets your day unfold naturally.
